Intentions

The YF committee, during a brainstorming session, requested discussions on 2 topics: How to Read the Bible, and How to Recognize God's Voice. These two topics form the basis of this talk.

The topics tell me that the issue is not a question of method (How to study) but that our bible reading and/or quiet time does not satisfy us. That dissatisfaction arises from the second topic, that of recognizing God's voice. Bible reading/quiet time is a more or less dead activity but we have to do it. People say it's important. Others say it's great. Perhaps we are doing it wrong? Perhaps we cannot hear God's voice?

That's the background for this talk.
